PLATO ESRs have the opportunity to receive individual coaching from a qualified careers coach, via one 30 minute online coaching session.
Individual coaching provides personally-tailored guidance and dedicated time and attention that you may not otherwise receive in your professional life. This session could help you reflect on where you are currently in your career and explore where you want to be and what you might need to do to get there. Alternatively you may choose another career related issue that you wish to cover in your coaching session (you may inform the coach in advance of the session if you want).
A coach can help you understand who you are as a person, your needs and aspirations. People who receive coaching report benefits such as increased self-confidence, improved performance and relationships, and better communication skills.
Individual time slots for a 30 minute online coaching session will be scheduled on 18 and 23 March 2020 that the registered participants can select from.

Phil Powrie, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Human Sciences at the University of Surrey, reflects on management coaching:
