Webinar: Building an online profile as researcher

This webinar will help participants take control of their digital identity and select digital platforms and social networking sites to become engaging researchers and advance their career.

As a researcher, you will be aware of the need to communicate with others about your research. Through building an online profile as a researcher you will be able to extend the reach of your research communication far beyond the walls of your office. In addition, you will be able to use your own online profile to showcase your own personal skill, knowledge, abilities and experience to increase your future employability.

Objectives

The webinar will support you to:

  • Generate a better understanding of the skills required to create a digital identity including online profile awareness, profile content, images and graphics and writing for the online platforms
  • Understand how to effectively use online platforms to promote your research including Twitter, LinkedIn, open access portals, blogs and personal webpages
  • Explore personal branding and personal presence online using brand awareness, brand thinking and online personality persona
